Engagement Diary – 2019

Strange to relate, the diary for 2109 looks thinner than usual. That’s because a number of engagements, which are ’in the pipeline’ are yet to be confirmed.

Readers should keep an eye on the website for the updates as they come through.

Perhaps the biggest event next year is our tour to Cornwall.

Competing at Mrs Sunderland Music Festival at Huddersfield Town Hall

We are pleased to say we enjoyed being part of a great day of music making

& doubly pleasedto be winners of  the Male Voice Choir class,

securing our 50th First Prize in this festival.

Watch England beat Sweden on Saturday afternoon then come down and

celebrate at Concert on the Hill.

‘Last-night-of- the- Proms’ style fun at Salendine Nook. 

The weather should be great, the atmosphere greater and

with a spectacular firework finale, what better way to spend a Saturday evening!

Concert at Clifton Music Festival

in the delightful medieval Church at Clifton

– With solos by, amongst others:- 

Eric Cooper playing  the cello music from that Royal Wedding, and the inimitable Keith Swallow.

Thom Meredith, Keith Swallow and the men of the Colne Valley, with soloists drawn from our

own ranks – boosted by percussionist, Lauren Rosborogh, on xylophone and drums.

There’s also a fine organ at Stones – and a  fine organist, Graham Cockcroft to play it – so we’ll

be doing the ‘proper version’ of ‘The Lost Chord’.

a private function – organised by HRI’s Intensive Care Unit – in memory of those who didn’t make it .

Guests of Saint Bartholomew’s and in support of their restoration funds and related charities, this concert will

feature mostly the Choir, but with solo spots from our in-house talent and Maestros, Keith Swallow and Thom Meredith.

We will also have the pleasure of soprano, Stephanie Hellawell.

HRI Intensive Care Unit – Remembrance Event

This private function at St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield gives a chance for the Family’s and Friends  of

HRI Intensive Care patients, who didn’t make it,  to recall and celebrate the lives of their Loved Ones.

Hospital staff offer readings and poems, interspersed with uplifting music from the Choir.

It’s a moving event for every one involved.
